How to Prepare Your Home for Newborn Photos

We are often asked what needs to be done ahead of time to prepare for your in-home newborn session.

The answer?

Nothing.

We know it can feel like there’s a lot of pressure to have everything spotless and “picture-perfect” when preparing for a photoshoot, but don’t worry – you really don’t need to do much at all! We’re here to help make the process easy and stress-free. Let’s go over some simple suggestions…

When I arrive, we’ll find the best spaces in your home to photograph - no need to clean beforehand - and we’ll take our time to capture all your must-have images.

I bring an assortment of neutral blankets and accessories but prefer using the items that are most meaningful to you! So put aside anything you want to include and we’ll come up with a plan!

In-home newborn sessions last 2-3 hours and we shoot until we feel we've captured all the "must-have" shots. We encourage the whole family to be included in these photos - especially fur babies who love human babies.
