First and foremost, for all parents (and especially new moms!) we recommend choosing clothing you feel comfortable and confident in, and that fits well.

Keep the focus on baby by avoiding distracting prints, logos, and super bold colors, like neons. Think classic, timeless, understated.

White is always in style and lends a fresh vibe to your session - perfect for newborns.

It may be helpful to start with 1-2 neutrals and then add in a pop of color if you’d like. We suggest keeping color tones in the same family: pastels, jewel tones, etc.

Apply makeup and style your hair as you normally would. Tightly pulled-back hair is less flattering in photos. A pressed powder and gloss on lips are very helpful. Nails should be free of chipped polish.

Incorporating texture can be a simple way to add visual interest while sticking to classic color combinations. This also works for accessories like swaddles or blankets that you may choose to use.

We suggest sleeveless, 3/4 or full-length sleeves as T-shirts often cut the arm in an unflattering way. Pants or dresses/skirts are recommended instead of shorts.

Consider where you’ll display these photos throughout your home, especially for larger framed prints. You want the colors and style of your photoshoot to be seamlessly incorporated into the aesthetic of the space where it’s displayed.

The best option for siblings is an outfit that suits their personality and helps them feel confident and happy. Being an older brother or sister is so fun and we want them to know they’re special as well!

For baby, your favorite one or two outfits are perfect. Even a simple white onesie or just a diaper will be adorable.
